Sharing the Story of Vietnam Climate Change

Traveling to Washington, D.C. to tell policymakers about climate change's effect on the Mekong River Delta of Vietnam.

Every effort needs to be made to share the facts of climate change and the consequences it will have for the United States and the rest of the world. First a group of students spend two weeks in the Mekong River Delta of Vietnam to see firsthand the damage caused by climate change. Then, student travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congressional staff, members of the Asia Foreign Affairs subcommittee and other government officials to describe their experiences in Vietnam and convey a message about climate change to accepters and deniers who are in a place of influence. Students build their leadership and communication skills while informing policymakers about the reality of climate change.
