Engaged Opportunity Grants

Cornell University Press/Three Hills Communication and Outreach

Supporting regional trade imprint Three Hills’ advisory board meeting and a workshop that connects with a larger network of outreach organizations.

Cornell University Press’s new regional trade imprint, Three Hills, is a vehicle for smart and popular books on the natural history, history, arts, science, culture and current events of New York state. Three Hills has formed an advisory board of 14 leaders in the field of communications – ranging from journalism to public history, science, and art to public policy formulation – in order to support the imprint’s mission to deepen public knowledge, promote tourism and patronage of the arts, and orient public debate on matters of public policy and politics. This project funds the advisory board’s annual business meeting and a workshop at Bard College that links Three Hills to a larger network of outreach organizations, creating a basis for Three Hills to participate in future expanded conferences in which scholarship, publishing and outreach are treated as integral efforts.
