Engaged Opportunity Grants

Cornell Model United Nations Financial Aid Program

Making Cornell's Model UN Conference available to low-income high school students

The Cornell Model United Nations Conference is one of the largest meetings of its kind in the U.S. Each year more than 900 high school delegates come to the Ithaca campus for a weekend of spirited debate and leadership development. This project makes financial aid available to students from schools in upstate New York who would not otherwise be able to attend, giving them the opportunity to have an international experience and engage with crucial world issues. Everyone involved with the conference – from Cornell student staff to other high school delegates and advisors – benefits from the financial aid program since it broadens the diversity of viewpoints and backgrounds present at Model UN.
